Post-race debrief at Perth in September
WE are off to Market Rasen today with SHANBALLY ROSE (2.40) to run in their three-mile handicap. It's a long way to go, the round trip is about eight hours in total, but we looked at the race and felt it would be perfect for her. We know she likes right-handed tracks and having her best form at Perth and Musselburgh means she should go well here.
Moving back up to three miles is good for her, although it will be a tough race. Becky Menzies' horse Future Benefits won well at Newcastle last time out and sets the standard so will be difficult to beat. But it's a different track and a different day, so we'll see how it goes. We are happy with how Shanbally is, she's had a few weeks to freshen up at home and seems well in herself. Dylan Johnston gets on well with her so hopefully the journey will be worthwhile!
