Get With It watching the world go by in the sunshine

UP to Perth on Sunday for their Gold Cup meeting, with two runners declared. GET WITH IT (3.00) enjoyed a fine summer there last year, finally seeing the penny drop and winning his first race for us and accompanying it with a couple of seconds too. He’s been dropping back down the weights again and is only 1lb higher than his last winning mark, so on ratings he’s got a good chance here.

We know the track and the ground will suit him from previous efforts so while it’s a tough assignment with opponents who have a bit of recent winning form behind them - and the obligatory Irish raider at Perth - if he’s in the same mood there as last summer he’ll be competitive.

HERMANN CLERMONT (4.05) has run in two points and two hunter chases since being purchased by Will Ramsay, but we’re going back under rules with him this weekend. A horse of good ability, his record at Scone (when completing - he slipped once) is 2112, so it’s clearly a track he likes.

As you would expect for a race like this, it’s going to be highly competitive but the smaller field than normal will be a help. He’s bottom of the weights and nine pounds below the mark he was allotted for finishing a close second to the subsequent winner of a nice hurdle race at Newbury last year…so there’s plenty in his favour. Sean Quinlan takes over from Nick Orpwood and will hopefully get a nice spin on him.
