Pats Dream

PATS DREAM (2.04) makes his chasing debut for us at Kelso tomorrow as one of three runners on the card. He joined us after running in two point-to-points over in Ireland in the winter of 2021 into 2022, where he came up against some opponents who have done well for themselves since - including Cheltenham bumper second Fact To File.

We took our time with him last season, running over 2m three times before stepping up in trip at Perth on his final start in April. Going chasing was always going to be the long-term aim and being a half-brother to Milan Bridge, stamina is in his pedigree so the move to three miles here should be right up his street. He starts life off a workable mark against some novices who have more experience than he does at this stage, but we believe he can be competitive. Craig Nichol rode him three times last season and is on board again.

The ground turning soft overnight isn't ideal for him so it's a concern and we will be mindful of the conditons. It has also scuppered the idea of getting Firth Of Forth and Cosmic Outlaw onto the track for the first time this season. We've had a few false starts now but it's better to wait rather than jump in when things don't suit because it's a long season ahead.
