WE had a really enjoyable morning yesterday in the company of the guests visiting us as part of National Racehorse Week. Over thirty people travelled to Hazelrigg to visit our horses in their stables, watch them being tacked up, have spins in the covered ride and deep-sand gallop and then see Chosen Flame having a swim. Our farrier then gave a demonstration of shoeing a horse as well before drinks, traybakes and plenty of chat.
It’s always nice to show the yard and the horses off to people and I’m sure those who attended will have gone away knowing a little bit more about what happens on a racing yard day-to-day. Everyone seemed to have a good time and hopefully picked out a horse or two to follow for the season ahead.
