A relatively rare trip to Southwell for us this week, with LIMERICK LEADER (2.45) as we bid to keep the yard’s decent run of form going. Second at Newcastle last month back over fences, that was a most encouraging run and hopefully we’ve found the right race for him here with only six rivals and not much in the way of recent winning form. Dylan takes off his seven pounds again, which is handy, and he got on really well with him last time, taking over from Craig Nichol while he’s injured.
The 4lbs rise since Newcastle obviously makes life a little bit tougher, but the form of the winner that day at Cartmel recently offers plenty of encouragement. He’s a horse we think has plenty of improvement to come yet and if he handles the sharp Southwell track we’d be hopeful of a big run.
