Kelso Duo

Firth Of Forth and Cosmic Outlaw having a pick of grass

TWO runners at Kelso later today, both having their second outings of the season. COSMIC OUTLAW (2.10) pleased us with his comeback here a few weeks ago and will have improved for that effort. He’s not a quick horse but he stays well and with the ground being good to soft, that’s ideal for him. We have put a visor on him to make him travel a bit better so the hope is that could eke out a bit of improvement in the way he goes through the race.

Dylan Johnston usually rides him but he’s banned today so Patrick Wadge will take over. He’s had a good time of it in the last 12 months so hopefully they’ll get on well and be competitive.

We have also put some headgear on our other runner, FIRTH OF FORTH (2.45), who will wear cheekpieces for the first time. He ran okay to a point at Musselburgh but needed it and probably didn’t like the track either. We know Kelso is far more up his street and with the mark he’s on he should have a decent each-way chance. That’s how we would assess both of ours this afternoon, if they improve for the earlier runs like we expect them to then I’d like to think they can hit the frame.
