Here Comes The Man at Carlisle
GREAT news this morning that Newcastle has passed its inspection so racing goes ahead. We will run HERE COMES THE MAN (1230) in the 3m handicap chase, the second on the card. He was all set for Wetherby and we were quite excited about taking him there, after a disappointing run at Carlisle back in October.
I am coming round to thinking he wants a flat track because he didn’t get up the hill that day at all, so returning to Newcastle - where he won in April - was the logical move when Wetherby went off. The handicapper has eased him a bit from the mark he was given following his win in the spring, so that should help things. It’s a hot-enough looking race with a few in-form yards but he’s a right old stayer who loves deep ground so hopefully the conditions will suit and we’ll have a decent chance.
