Here Comes The Man

Pre-race at Carlisle last season

HERE COMES THE MAN (3.25) is our sole runner at Ayr this afternoon following the withdrawal of Mister Freddie from the novice hurdle.

Last season was a write off for him, it was a nightmare actually, but we did find out after sending him to Newmarket for a full bone scan that he had a hairline fracture in his pelvis and some other little issues, so he’s needed time to get over them.

All is good with him now and hopefully having those physical issues resolved will allow him to show what he’s really capable of on the track. He’s going great guns at home, so we’re hopeful but you don’t ever know until he gets there and does it.

Last season at Ayr he made a mistake at one hurdle and went to pieces after it, so it’s all about getting him into a rhythm with his jumping. If he does that then we believe he can run a big race.

He’s running in my colours today but a new syndicate will be leasing him afterwards and a few of them are up at Ayr this afternoon. They’ve optimistically called themselves Cheltenham For Breakfast, so no pressure then!
