Richard Johnson First With Chosen Flame

Chosen Flame heads to Perth this afternoon, following a very good run there 3 weeks ago. There seems to be some interest in the booking of Dickie Johnson, but his owner Salvo has simply had a long association with Dickie, due to having horses with Philip Hobbs. And I’m of course very happy with the booking!

If the horse turns up in similar form to his last race then I’d hope he’ll go close. But it does look competitive. Our form was boosted yesterday with a good win from No Regrets who was just behind us last time.

It’s all go in the yard at Hazelrigg. Apart from the 4 summer horses, the rest of them are now all in and gradually fittening ahead of the autumn. They’re fresh and looking great.  It won’t take long for the season proper to get under way. I just hope racecourses will gradually be able to allow more people through their gates.

I felt so sorry for Goodwood the other day, all prepared for it’s members to be allowed in on the Saturday, only for it to be cancelled the day before. They must have been so upset.

Honourable Gent is entered for Market Rasen on Sunday. He ran a really nice race there a few weeks ago, so I hope he’ll turn up in similar form. We’ve given him enough time to freshen up I think.
