Holidaying horses....except Hitman

WE are down to just one horse in full training at the moment so you could say we’re throwing the entire stable at Perth today!

It would be great to get another win into HITMAN FRED (3.45) after he got his head in front there back in May. We took him to Cartmel last time but he got undone by the track there. He made one mistake and got stuck behind a wall of horses, so that was his chance gone because he had nowhere to go.

I actually think his performance was better than the seventh place suggests and if he turns up today in the same form he’s showed this year then we’d like to think he’ll have a great chance.

So we’re going there pretty hopeful this weekend.

It’s a really quiet time on the yard, our other summer horses have been roughed off and are having a break. We've brought Permission Granted back in because there is a race for him at Perth in August, and we'll be breaking in the two store horses we bought recently.

Everyone else is in the field having a nice holiday and are doing really well. Ideally we would like to have had a few more in for a summer campaign but it hasn’t worked out that way, but we are very excited about the coming season.

At least this quiet spell has given everyone on the yard the chance to have a bit of downtime and for us to do the jobs we’ve normally not got enough time to do.

Hopefully Fred can fly the flag for us today and give us a 100% record with horses in training!
