Happy New Year and a bit of festive frustration

First of all a belated Happy New Year to everyone as this has been our first update of 2020.

We’ve had a few runners over the last few days, with a fair dollop of anguish to go along with a bit of promise.

Lady London didn’t perform the way we know she can at Musselburgh, which is a track she likes, so that was frustrating, as was Ardglass Star’s second at Catterick. We feel like he should have won but he missed the last, although it was a step forward and we were very pleased with him.

Chosen Flame ran a good race to be third at Musselburgh on January 1, while Jack Devine came up against a good one of Philip Hobbs' at Catterick.

At Ayr 24 hours later, Classical Sound looked to be running a good race until he made a mistake down the back and he couldn’t pick up again to get back into contention.

Smugglers Stash stayed on well in his race and went agonisingly close to picking up a place.

Next week we have a few entries, Wild Polly and Hitman Fred are in at Ayr, while Monfass will go to Catterick and he may be joined by Geordielandgangsta.

It will be a quietish week on the racing front then it’s on to Kelso on Sunday where we plan to have a few runners.
