Get With It Bids To Go One Better

IT’S always good to see your friends doing well - although that wasn’t really the sentiment when Get With It finished second at Perth a few weeks ago!

We have been waiting for him to finally show what he’s capable of over fences and he did that, only to find David Jeffreys’ horse Cardboard Gangster two lengths too good. DJ used to work for us, he’s from around our way and we gave him his first job in racing. After starting out here, he moved to Lambourn with Charlie Mann and then to Charlie Longsdon’s yard before starting up himself.

He’s been doing really well and we’re delighted for him but I have to admit, I wasn’t so polite when sending him his ‘well done’ message after they came and did us! This was the first time we’d been involved in a finish like that against each other so we owe him one the next time.

GET WITH IT (3.55) heads back to Scotland tomorrow for another go at trying to get a win on the board and hopefully he’ll turn up in the same form. The last run was a definite step forward on what he’d produced so far and he was unlucky, just being run down late in the race. If he maintains his level of performance here we’d like to think he’s got a good chance.

It will be another small field with only six runners declared so hopefully he’ll be able to get into a nice rhythm for Craig Nichol again and this time can get his head in front at the line.
