Back To Work

AFTER a quiet few months it's great to see the boxes filling up and horses back in work getting ready for the season ahead. For most of the summer we have only really had Hitman Fred in training but the yard is bustling with activity now.

As you can see from the video above, it's fantastic weather here at Hazelrigg just now and we are so lucky to train in such a magnificent part of the world.

Unfortunately, we have had a bit of a setback with Fred and he will be taking a break now. He's had a brilliant time lately, winning four races since March, but he picked up a little niggly injury at Perth the last time, so he will need a few months off to get over it. The plan was to give him a rest anyway because he's had such a busy time, so it will be a well-deserved holiday. We'll see how he is before deciding whether to bring him back into full work again.

We bought some store horses at the tail end of last season so they have been spending the last few months getting used to life with us and as you can see below, they're coming along nicely.

Cole Harris, fresh from a great summer at Richard Fahey's stable, is leading the Arcadio gelding while James Robottom, who was with Tim Easterby for the summer, is on the Court Cave. Exciting times ahead!
